The Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 places even more stringent restrictions on the distiller's art. Bottled at exactly 100 proof, the bourbon must be bottled at the distillery where it's made, must be at least four years old, and barrels must be from the same mash bill produced in either the first or second half of a single year. The limitation to a narrow production window showcases the distiller's skill and the unique grain from a single harvest season. Ā
Mystic's Bottled in Bond has been awarded a coveted Gold Medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. All of Mystic's bourbons are handcrafted from grain that Mystic grows, water from Mystic's on-site aquifer, North Carolina oak barrels, and aged in the unique climate of the North Carolina Pidemont region.
